On Tuesday morning, random passers-by notified the emergency services that they had found a badly injured woman in a car on the outskirts of Askim center.
– There is a broad investigation to find out what happened. It is currently very unclear, says operations manager Tom Sandberg in the Eastern police district to NRK.
The driver of the car is charged. For the time being, the police will not say what the accusation is about, but confirm to NRK that the woman and the accused know each other.
– He has a relationship with the woman, says Sandberg.
Declared dead
The police received the message at 05.15. When the emergency services arrived at the scene, witnesses were already carrying out cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
– This was taken over by the ambulance personnel, but the person was declared dead after a short time. The deceased is a woman in her 40s, he said assignment manager Jo Rennemo Jellum at the Eastern police district to NRK in the seventies.
The driver is questioned
The police have blocked off the crime scene, which is a bus pocket at county road 115 on the outskirts of Askim center. Forensic scientists are on site to secure clues.

The person who drove the car the woman was found in was at the scene when the police arrived. He was taken to the police station for questioning.
– As far as we know, there were no more than the two in the car. There were other witnesses who came to the scene who called the emergency services. They will also be questioned, says Sandberg.
