The yellow jersey of the leader will be defended by the Dane Jonas Vingegaard, who after the 15th stage has a lead of 2:22 minutes ahead of the winner of the previous two years, Tadej Pogačar from Slovenia.

The first hundred kilometers of Tuesday’s stage should not be a big problem for the peloton, but then there are two climbs of the first category – the 11.4 km Port de Lers and then the 9.3 km Mur de Péguére. As they are followed by a 27km descent to the finish line, the favorites are not expected to attack the overall standings.
