A dozen people, including two teenagers, were injured and one person was killed in multiple separate shootings across the city Sunday night, according to police reports.
The first incident occurred in Brooklyn shortly after 6:30 p.m., when a 74-year-old woman was shot in the stomach while sitting on the patio of the Pink Houses in East New York, according to police.
The woman told authorities she heard gunshots and felt pain and did not see who was shot. The victim was taken to Brookdale Hospital and is expected to survive.
The violence continued just after 8 p.m. when a 16-year-old and three men were also shot by a man on a scooter in Brownsville after an argument broke out, police said.
Moments later, around 8:45 pm, two shootings, which police believe are connected, occurred in the Bronx.
Authorities said it all started when two men on bicycles opened fire outside a convenience store on Southern Boulevard, sending bullets flying into the store. Inside the store, a 13-year-old girl was injured in the left hand, while her mother was grazed by a bullet.
According to police, the same suspects fled to the intersection of Bristow and Jennings streets, where they opened fire again, wounding a woman in the left leg while walking her dog.
An 18-year-old man was later shot in the left leg inside Nostrand Playground just after 11 p.m. in Brooklyn, police said.
Just before midnight, police also responded to a call in Harlem for a man shot on West 115th Street. Upon arrival, authorities discovered 34-year-old Sean Tinsley with a gunshot wound to the head. The injured man was taken to a Harlem hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The violence continued into the early hours of Monday with a shooting around 12:15 am outside a Manhattan nightclub on Sixth Avenue near West 22nd Street.
The violence then spread to Queens when a 21-year-old man, who police say is a known gang member, was shot in the left leg.
