The program of events for this weekend of Bimilenaria Cultura included four proposals from Friday in Calahorra. That day Alfaro Enay’s group performed in the Plaza de la Verdura with its stylistic mix that received applause from the public.
Arrate Sánchez is the singer, Calagurritanian Fabio Rodríguez is in charge of the bass and choirs, David Rivero plays the guitar, Fátima Báez the box drum and Carlos Usorralde the drums. For part of the evening, Eusebio Cortés, from Calahorra, took the stage with his Spanish guitar to collaborate on several flamenco-style songs.
They performed their own songs and versions of flamenco fusion with reggae, pop and rock by artists such as Chambao and Delinqüentes.
On Saturday afternoon, the hall of Paseo del Mercadal hosted a performance entitled ‘Don’t help me anymore’ by Magomimo, his assistant Juan Alberto and several acrobatic experts. There was magic, humor and circus numbers of balances, among others, that children and adults enjoyed.
Yesterday, Sunday, the music sounded twice. In Paletillas street, at 1:00 p.m., the Logroño rock group Bicho*Z played. His concert was scheduled for Sunday, June 3, but had to be postponed because two of its four members had COVID on that date and the singer-songwriter from Rincón de Soto Daniel Subero finally performed.
Once this mishap was over, the band made up of Victor Zapata ‘Bicho’ (vocals and guitar), Iván Iglesias (guitar), David Romero (bass) and Iñaki Fernández (drums) were able to demonstrate their power on stage yesterday in Calahorra during a hot day. In their repertoire, their own songs published in recent years stood out, such as ‘Doing traps’ or ‘Metacrylate’, and others pending recording (seven compositions) such as ‘Fuego’ and ‘Historia Buried’, with which they opened, as well as ‘Camino’ ( Labuela) and the ‘Cold’ versions of Alarma and ‘Grateful’ of Rosendo with which they ended.
At seven in the afternoon, the tenor from Logroño, Jorge Elías, and the pianist, Javier Ruiz, staged a recital inside the parish church of San Andrés.
They delighted those present with a selection of compositions that mixed styles (zarzuela, church song, Neapolitans and opera) with themes such as ‘Tabernera del puerto’ for approximately one hour.
