Türkgücü Munich verbally keeps the ball flat. In the 2-1 away win in Heimstetten, however, the relegated team showed that he was a force to be reckoned with.

Munich – Already after the first 90 minutes of the new season it is clear: Although Türkgücü looks good after the crash landing, including bankruptcy and relegation, to appear a little more modest, the goal of staying up in the league seems too low. The first appearance in the notoriously uncomfortable guest appearance outside the gates of Munich was too convincing.

With trainer Alper Kayabunar, the ideal cast was found, the squad certainly meets higher standards. It is understandable that the 36-year-old coach spoke of “three points against relegation”. It became obvious on Saturday that the Munich team first had to earn credit again. Probably not for the last time, they were met with abusive chants from the opposing fans (“You’re just a club without a soul”). After the final whistle, President Taskin Akkay, annoyed by the almost endless stadium farce, was above all “glad that we can now talk about football”.

With a brilliant long-range shot from about 30 meters, Maximilian Berwein “surprised” the hosts after almost ten seconds (!) played with the opening goal, as SVH coach Christoph Schmitt later admitted. After Emre Tunc, in whom Türkgücü was interested in the summer, also equalized from a distance shortly before the half-time whistle (44′), substitute Jordi Woudstra scored the winning goal with a header from Benedikt Auburger’s cross (73′).

“Especially with the ball” Kayabunar recognized that there was still room for improvement in the first round, but he described his back four as “stable”. With ex-lion keeper Johann Hipper, the last piece of the puzzle was committed on the defensive, so that the Türkgücü coach is now satisfied with his squad. No other additions are currently planned. Should the Kayabunar team also score points in the two difficult guest appearances that follow in Burghausen and at FC Bayern II, the goal for the season should actually be corrected after just three rounds. At SV Heimstetten, however, they are traditionally prepared for a relegation battle anyway. However, the 36-year-old SVH coach emphasized that he had to “inject a little more naturalness into his team”. Next Saturday the first points should be booked at promoted Vilzing. (kik/mh)
