Doom on an e-book reader? Formality. Doom on the thermostat? That you’re even asking. Doom on the digital camera display? Ti Vena sand. Doom at the ordering terminal at McDonald’s? Sorry, it was fakebut for that someone started Doom on an ultrasound and a pregnancy test (see our article).
The point of such absurd attempts is that, thanks to the ingeniously programmed engine, it is possible to run this 90s classic on practically anything that contains a screen and some possibility of user input.
Thanks to a YouTuber who goes by the nickname Kgsws, the circle is now closed and Doom can be indirectly played as a minigame in the original Doom.
From a programmer’s point of view, it is said to be a rather tough nut to crack and it was necessary to accept a number of compromises to make it all work in the end, but in the end the work was done. If you’re wondering how it all works, check out the video below:
To the rest of us, who do not have the necessary technical education, it may seem like magic, but it really works. You can even try it yourself, but you will need the original game, not the modern and far more widely used GZDoom add-on.
Of course, there is a reminder that if humanity devoted the same energy it exerts to solving similar non-existent problems to something more meaningful, we could live a little better on this planet. On the other hand, it can also be viewed as the more people there are after Nolan search in Doom for Doom in Doom, the less he will desire them rule the world.
