At the Chartres hospital, the association Passeur de mots, passeur d’histoires receives a regional prize

Have you ever thought about putting your whole story down on paper? To recount all the events you have experienced, from your birth to today, your regrets, your sorrows but also, and above all, your pride and successes. “Thanks to Passeur de mots, passeur d’histoires, it’s possible,” says Valéria Milewski, hospital biographer and founder of the association.

Since 2007, at the Louis-Pasteur hospital, in Coudray, the association Passeur de mots, passer d’histoires, has joined the team of caregivers, nurses, doctors and surgeons of the oncology hematology department, to help with words and through speech, the seriously ill.

Regional Award Winner

“We offer them or they ask us to produce an accompanied autobiography”, begins Claire Ligre, hospital biographer at the association, since January.

“We usually follow a form of chronology. People tell us what they want but our role is to encourage them to remember and invite them to dig deeper or discuss this or that subject. They sometimes need to take breaks, to take the time to digest. This moment can also be an opportunity to dive back into the beautiful periods of one’s life, to dream and above all, to find one’s pillars and therefore strength. The biography is then written by Valéria and me, bound and offered to the families. »

This money will be used to develop the project everywhere in France, even abroad. “In fifteen years, the association has evolved and developed in other departments: “Currently, we are present in nine regions and in forty-six hospital departments. For Valéria Milewski and Claire Ligre, “the association must continue to establish itself where it is not present and to do this, the profession must be recognized. »
