The festivities of July 14 move away but in Pontault-Combault, the violence against the police continues. The surroundings of the police station were – for the second consecutive night – the scene of clashes between police officers and young people, who targeted them with mortars.
Fortunately, again, there were no injuries or material damage to report. It was around 3 a.m. that the first fireworks were fired in the direction of the police, avenue de la République, by about twenty people. The scene lasted a good hour, even if it was less dense than the previous one, with less mortar fire.
Here again, to defend themselves and protect the official building, the emergency police and anti-crime brigade personnel used their defense bullet launchers, their Cougar grenade launchers – which deliver tear gas – and also disencirclement grenades, used in the event of close attackers. No one was arrested.

Always avenue de la République, between the police station and the city of Ocil. Again, young people had sent about fifty mortars towards the police, not to mention the throwing of bottles and stones.
What – Saturday – had reacted Christophe Gonzalez, the regional secretary of National Police Alliance, who calls for additional police personnel throughout the department: “As every year, on July 14, the police are attacked, and like every year , the Pontault-Combault police station is targeted. Our colleagues showed extraordinary composure. The two nights surrounding July 14 had already been particularly difficult for the Seine-et-Marne police.
