Los San Antonio Spurs they ensured the continuity of one of the main pieces of their team by signing the forward Keldon Johnson to a four-year, $80 million contract.
Johnson, taken by San Antonio with the 29th pick in the 2019 NBA Draft, is coming off the best season of his career, averaging 17 points and 6.1 rebounds per game and shooting 40 percent from three-point range .
After being for many years one of the entertainers of the NBA with Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili and Tony Parker at the helm, the Spurs are heading for a total reconstruction after having sent the star point guard Dejounte Murray to the Atlanta Hawks for first-round picks.
The Spurs have missed the playoffs in each of the last three seasons after making it to the postseason for 22 straight years, tying the longest streak in league history. The Texans won five titles under Gregg Popovich.
In the last draft, San Antonio selected intern Jeremy Sochan with the ninth pick, before also adding Ohio State guard Malaki Branham with the 20th pick and Notre Dame guard Blake Wesley with the 25th pick.
