Castillo highlighted that the Peru continues its vaccination process normally and in this regard, he pointed out that there are more than 78,778 million doses administered, a figure that places the country in third place in the ranking of South America with higher number of vaccinated.
The Head of state took advantage of these data that place the country as a successful vaccination process to emphasize the work of his Government and medical professionals with care for the population against the pandemic.
“This has been one of the objectives embodied in the general government policy regarding welfare and social health protection that we are fulfilling with one of our promises to the people,” Castillo said.
Vaccination figures in Peru
According to Ministry of Healththe Peru It is the third country in the region with the most vaccines applied, with 88.5% of the population vaccinated with one dose, surpassing other nations such as Uruguay (86%) or Brazil (86%).
Likewise, 82.9% of Peruvians are vaccinated with both doses and in this regard, the country ranks second in South America, above Argentina (82.5%), Ecuador (78.3%), Colombia (70.6%) , among others.
On the third dose, Peru has a total of 62.1% vaccinated according to the latest data released by the Minsa and with that figure, it is also in third place on this side of the continent.
According to the latest official figures from last Tuesday, July 12, of the total number of vaccinated people, 5,228 million correspond to children between 5 and 11 years old; 2 919 million applied only one dose (69.47%), the rest have both doses (54.96%).
Regarding those of the old age, 4.253 million people over 60 years of age were vaccinated with two doses; while with the third, there are 3,670 million and 1,328,000 with the four doses.
Over the over 40 years oldin total there are 11,576 million with the two doses, 9,770 million with three doses and 2,258 million with the four.
