The Pignada and Lazaret forests are closed this Saturday, July 16 at noon, until further notice, and for a minimum of three days

Access to the Pignada and Lazaret forests is closed from this Saturday, July 16 at noon, “following the triggering of the orange vigilance alert at the heat wave and in the face of rising temperatures”, declares the city of Anglet. A decision taken by prevention, in the face of the “maximum risk of a fire starting caused by this situation”, completes the authorities. The police will carry out checks on both sites.

On Monday July 18, the maximum temperature forecast will be around 38 degrees in Anglet. A drop in temperatures is expected from Tuesday 19 July.

On July 30, 2020, at the end of the day, the Chiberta forest had caught fire. 100 hectares of pines and 65 hectares of residential areas had gone up in smoke in the Pignada area.
