The great pre-election realignment of the parties has begun. GERB regained first place, displacing “We continue the change”, announced “Alpha Research”. But he immediately insured that the lead of Boris’s party was only 1.5%. 21.5 percent of voters would vote for GERB, 20% for Kiril Petkov’s people.
We have our own sociology, we are the first political force, replied the leader of “Vazrazhdane” Kostadin Kostadinov. The smallest party in the parliament is successfully climbing the rating ladder, making sociologists guess who will drop out of the National Assembly.
So far, all the agencies are definite: there will be a new player in the parliament – “Bulgarian Rise” of Stefan Yanev.
Contrary to the initial euphoria surrounding him, no one currently gives him more than 5 percent. But they are quite enough for a modest group of 10-13 MPs to drive out any other party.
The great intrigue of the elections, especially if they will be held in October, is whether Kiril Petkov and Hristo Ivanov will embrace in a coalition for power. The release of the two formations with common lists would not only solve the problem of “We continue the change” with the lack of party registration. But it would also give a chance for a better result.
If only 2 million people turn out for the elections, as Boryana Dimitrova claims, for the first time we will see a fierce battle of the hard cores. However, 200,000 votes can turn the game around.
That is why Hristo Ivanov for the first time admitted the plans for joint lists with Kiril Petkov. “We have said many times that we think it makes sense and from our side the door is open for such a conversation,” commented the co-chairman of “Democratic Bulgaria”. He claims that the conversation hasn’t been held yet, “because we haven’t gone to elections. Still, it takes two to tango.”
