Significant damage was caused in an early morning explosion in Amsterdam. The facade of a tobacconist was blown out during the squat.

The squat took place this morning at 5.10 am, reports AT5/NH News. The goal was a Geldmaat in the outer wall of a tobacconist on Tussen Meer, in the Osdorp district.

“I heard three huge bangs,” says a local resident. Immediately after the explosions, a fierce fire with large black clouds of smoke started. It took a while for the fire brigade to get it under control.

No one got hurt

While the police, together with the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Service, then examined the building for explosives left behind, it turned out that fragments of the facade and the ATM were lying across the street. No one was injured.

Nothing has been released about the suspects and what they have stolen. The police only say that they have fled.
