More than 90 cellists will be on stage in a concert at the Mežaparks stage / Article

Kārlis Auzāns about the composition of the participants


The artistic director of “Melo-M Mega Orchestra” Kārlis Auzāns reveals that young cellists from all over Latvia, artists of different generations and musicians of different orchestras will take part in the concert: “It is a very colorful composition. Very young young students who may have recently started, but with great enthusiastically plays the cello. This is also one of our most important tasks – to create an emotional attachment to this instrument and music as such.”

Performances of well-known compositions are expected in the performance of “Melo-M Mega Orchestra”: compositions by Latvian composers Mārtiņš Braun, Imantas Kalniņš, Jānis Lūsēnas, as well as compositions from the groups “Pink Floyd”, “Coldplay”, “The Beatles”, “Marilyn Manson”, “Mumford and Sons” etc. repertoire. There will also be special surprises – the premiere of Kārlis Auzān’s composition “Together we can”, created especially for this orchestra, and well-known songs from the Song Festival repertoire.

Kārlis Auzāns says: “This is our fourth joint concert. It will be a unique experience for the listeners, because it’s hard for me to imagine hearing such a sound in the nearest 1000 kilometers away in the near future. We also have a specially written piece that I wrote, and it’s called “Together we varam”. This means that we can dedicate a whole concert together to Latvian listeners.”
