The first third place created in the town, La Mijoteuse, located in the premises of the former town hall, place Joseph-Verseille, has just celebrated its fifth anniversary. A coworking space open to all but also a project hotel dedicated to collective dynamics, La Mijoteuse is part of the social and solidarity economy (ESS). It is with pride that Karine Traval-Michelet, mayor of Colomiers, declared during this anniversary: ”The third place keeps all its promises. It allows project leaders to reveal their passions, their skills and their desires. actors in the columérine economy have emerged there such as the Social and Solidarity Grocery, the Remixerie, or even Minjat!, creator of around thirty jobs in the town.
200 coworkers accueillis
La Mijoteuse regularly organizes workshops, training, conferences, afterworks… 200 coworkers welcomed were listed in 2020. There have been 35 per month since the beginning of this year. 25 project leaders were supported there, 13 of whom were accommodated on site. This represents fifty salaried jobs created to date, and dozens of civic services and volunteers.
For this anniversary day, a time capsule collected messages written by the guests for the attention of the future generation. This capsule will only be opened during the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the third place, in 2037. It was also an opportunity to present to the assembly the one who has just been named the godmother of the place, Cindy Saint-André, founder of Inservices, a structure hosted at La Mijoteuse from 2017 to 2020. This association allows families in difficulty to find solutions adapted to their needs through two levers: solidarity grocery stores located in Colomiers, place du Val d’Aran and in Toulouse, avenue de Grande-Bretagne, as well as workshops (literacy, food, well-being). Project leaders were also honored during an award ceremony. During this time, a buffet was prepared for the attention of the guests at the party.
