The intense precipitations in the Metropolitan Region added to the low temperatures have begun to turn into snow and water snow in some foothill communes.
This is the case of the communes of Las Condes, Lo Barnechea and Puente Alto, where the snow began to manifest during the early morning. The fall of this caused different power outages, so Enel had to start repairs early.
The fall of solid precipitation occurred in the communes of Puente Alto, FloridaLas Condes, Lo Barnechea, Saint Bernard y the pintana. This created problems for motorists who were traveling this morning, as the roads were slippery.

Cristóbal Lira, mayor of Lo Barnechea, said that “with ENEL we have been working all morning on power outages, that has been the biggest emergency.”

Due to this phenomenon the National Emergency Office (ONEMI) gave some recommendations, mainly to drivers, due to the accumulation of snow in some zoans of the capital.
