Jakarta –
Apparently, the KPK Supervisory Board (Dewas) was disappointed with the resignation of Lili Pintauli Siregar as Deputy Chair of the KPK before the ethics trial. Why?
“We are serious, not not serious. You said there was something else I heard what he said… arranged for him to resign, what else is that? We are also disappointed that he resigned,” said Tumpak H Panggabean, chairman of the Corruption Eradication Committee. detik.comThursday (14/7/2022).
Previously, there were many parties, especially anti-corruption activists, who considered the KPK Council to be less ‘bitten’ for Lili Pintauli’s ethical issues. The former deputy chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission resigned, thus making the ethics trial for him aborted by the Corruption Eradication Committee.

“Don’t equate us with investigators. If the investigator is in this case, give me a week to finish because I can confiscate, I can search, let alone open the books,” said Tumpak.
The ethics trial for Lili was actually held on July 11, 2022. However, at the beginning of the trial, Lili showed her resignation letter which had been approved by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi).
On that basis, Tumpak, who is the chairman of the ethics trial assembly, considered that Lili could not be tried. The reason is that Lili’s status, who is no longer a member of the KPK, cannot be judged ethically.
“Even if the trial, what will be the maximum sentence? Resigned too? He has resigned too. So, that’s a consideration too. But what is clear, if the person is no longer there, is not a member of the KPK anymore, of course it can’t be accounted for anymore,” said Tumpak on July 11, 2022 when giving reasons for the fall of the ethics trial for Lili.
However, this reason has sparked satire from many parties, especially from people who have been in the KPK and anti-corruption activists. They judge that Dewas washes his hands from this case.
One of them emerged from Febri Diansyah. The former spokesman for the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) openly said that what the KPK Council had done was wrong.
“The KPK Council is wrong, the ethics session for KPK leader Lili Pintauli Siregar who is suspected of receiving gratuities related to MotoGP is still being carried out. Why? The KPK Law has assigned the KPK Council to hold a code of ethics session to examine alleged violations of the code of ethics,” said Febri, quoted from his tweet on Twitter. personal, @febridiansyah, Tuesday (11/7/2022).
According to Febri, the ethics trial against Lili Pintauli should still be held. This is because the alleged ethical violation occurred when Lili was still the Deputy Chairperson of the KPK. Thus, the trial of the code of ethics is actually aimed at proving the violations that he allegedly committed when he was a KPK leader or a KPK employee.
“So, the reason why the KPK Council stated that the ethics trial was aborted is because Lili resigned before the trial is clearly wrong. Because when the alleged violation occurred, she was still the leader of the KPK,” he said.
Febri assessed that Dewas misunderstood the context of the time and status of KPK employees when the alleged ethical violation occurred. Meanwhile, if the Dewas logic is used, Febri believes that other KPK employees can use the same method to avoid sanctions for ethical violations.
“If this Dewas logic is used, every offender will easily avoid it by retreating when the code of ethics is being tried,” he said.
In this matter, Lili allegedly asked for facilities to watch the Mandalika MotoGP. Lili was then reported to the KPK Council on suspicion of ethics. In the end, the ethical allegations could not be proven because the trial had already been aborted by the KPK Council on the grounds that Lili had resigned from the KPK.
