MONTREAL. During the opening day of the free-agent market in the NHL, Slovakia received news about the signings of three hockey players.
Jaroslav Halák was the first to have a contract. The goalkeeper from Bratislava signed a contract with the New York Rangers, where he will earn 1,550,000 dollars next season.
Defender Erik Černák received the first long-term contract in his career from the Tampa Bay Lightning. He will earn $5,200,000 a year until the end of the 2030/31 season.
And then came the draft unit. Juraj Slafkovský he not only signed a three-year rookie contract with the Montreal Canadiensbut he also broke the NHL record.
