Apple today made the release candidate version of an upcoming macOS Monterey 12.5 update available to developers for testing purposes, and the new update came two weeks after the release of the fifth macOS Monterey 12.5 beta.
Registered developers can download the beta through the Apple Developer Center, and after installing the appropriate profile, beta versions are available through the software update mechanism in System Preferences.
It’s not yet known what new features or changes might be included in macOS Monterey 12.5, and nothing new has been found in the first five beta builds. This update is likely to focus on bug fixes and other minor OS improvements.
macOS Monterey 12.5 may be one of the last updates to the macOS Monterey website, as Apple now shifts its focus to macOS Ventura, the next-generation Mac operating system coming this fall.
