Latina Television will broadcast the series of Mario Moreno “Cantinflas”, a selection of the most acclaimed films of the remembered Mexican actor that made him one of the legends of world cinema.
This Saturday, July 9, at 6:30 p.m., “El Profesor” will be broadcast on “El Profesor”, a comedy that tells the story of a primary school teacher named Sócrates García (Cantinflas), who is sent to be the new a teacher at the school in the town of El Romeral, where everyone awaits him with great enthusiasm, except for Don Margarito Vázquez, who shows his dislike for him.
Cantinflas is considered the most successful Mexican comic actor and is celebrated throughout Latin America as a cultural icon. His numerous films show his sense of humor, ingenuity and “street”, by playing a myriad of trades, generally humble as a bricklayer, elevator operator or street sweeper, but also professions such as a doctor, lawyer, police officer, priest and teacher.
Almost 30 years after his death, “Función Estelar”, a block of Latina Televisión films, will present a recount of Cantinflas’s best films: “Sube y Baja”, “El portero”, “Su Excelencia”, “Si yo fue deputy”, “The street sweeper”, “The illiterate”, “Patrullero 777”, “Gran Hotel”, “The atomic firefighter”, among others.
