Hotly contested staff – “Shock rigidity does not help the company”

“OÖ Krone”: Ms. Schmidt, on the one hand, B&R is looking for 600 employees in Eggelsberg, on the other hand, Mahle will close down its plant in Mattighofen at the end of 2024, and Fill Metallbau will be reducing the majority of its 110 employees in Hohenzell. Is that a red flag?
Iris Schmidt: In the Innviertel we don’t worry that much. The region has many companies that are desperately looking for employees. There’s also a balancing act to ensure that companies that decide to lay off staff don’t lose them prematurely.
