the essential Mathilda May, staying in Bali, shared a text on social networks. She describes the hell she saw “devastated by the dengue virus” and testifies to her gratitude towards the “French hospital system”.
“Hard days, immobilized, unable to eat or drink. It is the hell that Mathilda May describes. The French actress, staying in Bali, was “devastated” by the dengue virus. On an Instagram post posted Tuesday, July 12, she shared a photo of her hand with a catheter on it.
Although she was hard hit by the disease, the actress did not dwell on more details concerning the virus or her recovery but preferred to thank “our French health system”.
“It is clear that where I am, without health insurance, I would not have had access to this expensive hospital. It is the great luxury here to be able to be treated in the hospital,” she explained.
Mathilda May then recalled the importance of the major crisis in the health sector in France “and the contempt of successive public authorities vis-à-vis the hospital world and its caregivers”.
“Let’s defend the hospitals that are crying and dying not to be heard. By fighting as they always have, caregivers not only protect a system but they protect us, the patients, and all patients without distinction,” she said.
Mathilda May should be repatriated to French soil within a few days to continue her care.
