The emergency services moved out to the E18 at Undrumsdalkrysset on Tuesday night after a report of a motorcycle that had overturned in an exit field.
Police in the South-East say that a person is seriously injured as a result of the accident.
– Ambulance has taken the motorcycle driver to the hospital in Tønsberg. He is badly injured. He had no passengers, it says in a post on Twitter at 21.28.
The operations manager in the South-East police district, Jan Kristian Johnsrud, confirms to TV 2 that this is a serious accident.
– We do not know who he is at the moment. We know who owns the motorcycle, but we have no secure identification of the person, says Johnsrud.
The operations manager says the man was unconscious when he was found and that he was then transported to hospital and taken care of by health.
– We have witnesses who have seen him drive at high speed, says Johnsrud.
The police will notify the accident group to the Public Roads Administration and continue with forensic investigations on the spot in the future.
