NIMH meteorologists registered record low temperatures in the valleys of Western Bulgaria this morning.
In Sofia, the thermometer dropped to 6.7°, in Pernik it showed 6.4°, Dupnitsa 5.2°, and in Samokov only 5.0°C.
For comparison, the previous record for July 12 in the capital was also 6.7° from 1979, and in Samokov they last had such a cool morning in 1938.
The readings in Pernik and Dupnitsa are record low for today.
It was also cold in the mountains today – on Musala peak they recorded 2.8° below zero, on Botev -0.6°, on Cherni vrah -0.1 degrees.
