It’s done: Captain America returns to the cinema, but no longer with Chris Evans

Since the launch of Disney+ at the end of 2019, Marvel has reviewed its narrative strategy. With a very simple objective: to extend its cinematographic universe on the streaming platform and vice versa, just to have it both ways.

Given the great success of Falcon and the Winter Soldier, we had to expect a return of Captain America in theaters. No longer with Steve Rogers (played by Chris Evans), who gave up the vibranium shield, but with his appointed successor, Sam Wilson, the ex-Falcon (camped by Anthony Mackie). And for those hoping for a Steve Rogers return, Chris Evans wrote a lucid tweet: “Sam Wilson is Captain America”.

Not enough to discourage his admirers. He could very well come back as a wise old man, as in Avengers : Endgameor even resume service in another dimension since the multiverse allows all reversals.

The only certainties: the new adventure will be entrusted to two scriptwriters of the series, Malcolm Spellman and Dalan Musson, while Julius Onah, the director of The Cloverfield Paradoxwill take care of the staging.
