TIMNAS Indonesia demanded to leave the AFF because of indications of elephant football in the final matchday of Group A AFF U-19 Cup 2022 which brings together the Vietnam U-19 national team vs Thailand U-19 national team. A number of netizens on social media encouraged the Indonesian national team, in this case PSSI, to make a bold step, namely to leave the Southeast Asian Football Federation.
“It is time for Indonesia to leave the AFF. Yes, it’s very clear that AFF is a mafia nest. No wonder Indonesia lost in the final. There are many who hold Indonesia and the city doesn’t want to lose,” wrote the Twitter account @TegarJuel.
“What if the Indonesian national team leaves the AFF. Because, the 2022 AFF U-19 Cup is not on the FIFA agenda. especially now that “Match Fixing is happening,” wrote the @ChannelMuran account.
The Instagram account @pojoktimnas.id even created a poll. He encouraged the Indonesian national team to leave the AFF.

So far, out of 144 votes, 128 votes agreed that the Indonesian national team would leave the AFF, while 13 of them did not. When presented, 90.78 percent agreed that the Indonesian national team would leave the AFF!.
If PSSI takes extreme steps by leaving the AFF, where will they land? Oceania can be an option. Geographically, Indonesia is still close to Oceania teams.
Only in terms of quality Indonesian National team will get a lesser opponent. Because, if you stay in the AFF, the Indonesian national team will still meet established Asian teams such as Japan, Saudi Arabia, South Korea and Australia.

It would be different if the Indonesian national team moved to Oceania. You could say that only New Zealand has a level above the Indonesian national team. Outside of New Zealand, teams such as the Solomon Islands or Tahiti are on a par with the Indonesian national team.
So, how was PSSI’s response regarding the alleged flirting in the Vietnam vs Thailand match which made the U-19 Indonesian National Team failed to qualify for the 2022 AFF U-19 Cup semifinals? PSSI General Chair Mochamad Iriawan will discuss it with his team.
“We will discuss it first at PSSI. We will convey that we are quite disadvantaged,” said Mochamad Iriawan when met at the Patriot Candrabhaga Stadium, quoting Antara.
“We will discuss it internally tomorrow (today). We will play back the match video and analyze it with several parties including the technical director before confirming whether we will file a protest,” concluded Mochamad Iriawan.
