Russian rockets destroyed a residential house in Donbas, 40 victims are expected

“As of 1 p.m. on July 10, as a result of a rocket attack on a five-story residential building in Khasiv Yar, 15 people were killed and five others were injured,” Ukraine’s Emergencies Ministry said.

The number of victims gradually increased as they were rescued from the rubble of the house, where 67 firefighters with ten vehicles intervened.

The head of the military administration of the Donetsk region, Pavlo Kyrylenko, said that the rescuers managed to establish contact with some of the missing, but he did not say how many there are.

“According to various estimates, there may be another 24 people, including a nine-year-old child,” he said of the possible number of people under the rubble.

The house was hit by rockets from a 220 mm BM-27 Uragan salvo rocket launcher in the evening, the Ukrainian side said.

Časiv Jar was the target of several rocket attacks on Saturday. In one of them, the station building was also hit, which burned down.

The town of Chasiv Jar is located in close proximity to Bakhmut, which the Russians are trying to conquer. It lies to the west of it, and an important railway line to Kramatorsk runs through it, from where the Ukrainian troops are supplied.

More missile attacks

On the last day, the Russians also shelled Kharkiv, which was hit by one Iskander rocket fired from the Belgorod region.

The Russian Ministry of Defense announced that Russian forces in Ukraine managed to hit with a surface-to-surface guided missile near Slovyansk a warehouse with a thousand 155 mm artillery shells supplied from the West for the American M777 howitzers and 700 rockets for the BM-21 Grad rocket launcher. Ukrainian authorities have not commented.
