– Of course it wanders a thought

BRIGHTON / OSLO (Nettavisen): The reason why England want to change the color of their shorts is worries about playing while they are menstruating. It writes The Telegraph.

The Norwegian women’s national team also wears white shorts. National team profiles Anja Sønstevold and Maren Mjelde have brought with them the writings on the English issue.

– It is a week a month that can be a bit challenging from before, and if you also have to be afraid of bleeding through, then I understand the English girls, Sønstevold says to Nettavisen.

– Did not talk about it

Sønstevold and Mjelde say that the Norwegian girls have not talked about the possibilities of changing the color of the shorts, but that they have been to the problem before.

– I have thought about it myself before, but we have never gone together and thought about doing something about it. But of course there is a thought about the first day of the period and it is match day in white shorts, says Sønstevold.

Chelsea profile and national team captain Maren Mjelde thinks it is good that the English girls have contacted the equipment supplier.

– The most important thing for an athlete is to feel good in the equipment and the clothes you play with, Mjelde says to Nettavisen.

Hoping for change

During the opening match against Austria on Wednesday night, Beth Mead scored the match’s only goal for the English national team. She confirms that the team has had discussions with Nike about a potential color change.

– Hopefully they will change the color. It is very nice to have an all-white set, but sometimes it is not practical when it is that time of the month. We deal with it as best we can. “We have discussed it as a team, and we have given it back to Nike,” Mead told The Telegraph.

The same discussion also appeared during the Wimbledon tournament. It is a tradition to play in all white.

The British tennis player Alicia Barnett said that she was stressed about wearing white while she was menstruating.

– I think some traditions can change. I, first of all, am a massive advocate for women’s rights, and I think it’s wonderful to have this discussion, that people are now talking about it, she said.
