The 10 Richest Families of Antwerp
Anyone who visits the Moortgat brewery in Breendonk is welcomed by Jesus at the entrance. Jan Leonard Moortgat placed the statue in 1871 as a good luck charm. That seems to have worked: for a century and a half, the Moortgat family has been building on the success of den Duvel. Today the helm is in the hands of the fourth generation, the Moortgats are in ninth place among the richest families in Antwerp.
