Manchester United keep down even though it’s strengthened Cristiano Ronaldo. Former Italy star Gianluca Zambrotta disagrees with Ronaldo being blamed for Manchester United’s failure.
Ronaldo returned to Old Trafford after being transported from Juventus last summer. Big expectations accompany the arrival of Ronaldo because of his reputation and sweet memories with Manchester United in the past.
In the process the 37-year-old striker scored 24 goals in 38 games across all competitions but the Red Devils only finished sixth, meaning they will miss the 2022/2023 Champions League. Not a few accused Ronaldo of being the cause of MU’s slump because they were considered to be hampering younger players like Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho.

After the disappointing results of Manchester United, Ronaldo wanted to leave. Zambrotta rate, MU failure because the squad is less sip.
“Let’s say he also needs team-mates,” Zambrotta told Stats Perform. “Even when Ronaldo criticized at Juventus, and they weren’t able to get to the next round in the Champions League, he always makes the difference from a numbers point of view.”
“The data, the numbers, say it. You can’t argue with the numbers, and then you might like him, or you might not like him. It’s something else. that.”
Cristiano Ronaldo now linked with Chelsea and Bayern Munich, potentially leaving Robert Lewandowski. The Polish football superstar wants to join Barcelona, but Die Roten is adamant that he won’t let go unless the official 50 million euros are paid.
Lewandowski are expected to attend Bayern’s inaugural pre-season training on 12 July. Zambrotta believes Lewandowski wanted to leave because he wanted to have a different atmosphere.
“I’m always used to not judging anyone because I don’t know the personal story and events that occur from every problem. Everyone can indeed be at certain moments in their careers where they need to change, because they need new motivation, new stimuli,” continued the 2006 World Cup winner.
“He needs to change the atmosphere, meet new faces, be in another stadium, meet new team-mates. Maybe at the moment, the right reason for a player and it seems [Lewandowski] really want to change the atmosphere. That’s all,” Zambrotta concluded.
