TANGERANGNEWS.com-Students are considered to have an important role in preventing oral and nail disease (PMK) outbreaks through educating the public.
This was stated by the Leader of the Indonesian Muslim Student Action Unit (KAMMI) for the South Tangerang (Tangsel) area, Eka Febrianto in a public discussion themed ‘Policies and Health Impacts Ahead of Eid al-Adha from the PMK Outbreak.’
According to him, this year’s Eid al-Adha celebration was tested by the emergence of a FMD outbreak that attacked livestock. So, students need to intervene in taking roles.
“So, we as students must play an active role in helping and educating the community in the success of slaughtering sacrificial animals around our environment,” he said in Bintaro, South Tangerang, Friday, July 8, 2022 night.
Head of UPTD Tangsel Animal Health Center Pipit Surya Yuniar conveyed that the importance of prioritizing cleanliness in slaughtering sacrificial animals.
Cleanliness, he said, must be applied, starting from the place, the availability of water, to the tools used in slaughtering animals.
“Because this FMD disease does not have a serious direct impact on humans, but it is also not good to eat meat that has been affected by FMD,” he concluded.
