The Latino gangs in Madrid fight each other to the death

Since the end of the Corona measures, bloody clashes between rival Latino gangs have increased again in the Spanish capital. Its members are getting younger, more violent – and more female.

The Spanish police have had to deploy more than a hundred times this year to take action against the often underage members of Latino gangs.

Jenny * hates remembering the time she came to Spain with her family from the Dominican Republic. She was ten years old and from the start she didn’t feel welcome at her new school in Majadahonda, a northern suburb of Madrid. “At the time I was the only dark-skinned child in my class, I was bullied, nobody wanted to play with me,” says the 25-year-old.
