The Story of a Democrat’s Seduction to Golkar That Turned Around

Jakarta

High-ranking business Democratic Party (PD) seduce Golkar Party to form a coalition of only two political parties to meet 2024 presidential election has not subsided. Golkar’s appeal was never received positively, the Democrats were instead courted back into joining the United Indonesia Coalition or KIB.

Democratic Party cadre Syahrial Nasution once thought that the parties in KIB, namely Golkar, PAN, and PPP, were too carried away by their appeal to Golkar. Syahrial said, as long as the yellow leaves have not curled, anything can still happen.

Politics should not be ‘baper’. Media assumptions are the basis for thinking and threats,” Syahrial said in his tweet, which was distributed to reporters, Thursday (7/7/2022).

Syahrial said that political anchors were a necessity. According to him, political parties should not be held hostage by the available options, but must be ideal and provide the best for the people.

“Political anchors are a necessity, because political parties must be rational and have targets. The choices that are served must not be held hostage, they must be ideal and best for the people,” he said.

He also believed anything could still happen. He likens politics to yellow leaves, as long as it is not curved, then all possibilities can still be realized.

“As long as the yellow leaves have not curved, the sky remains blue,” he said.

PAN: Democrats Don’t Be Afraid to Join KIB

PAN, one of the political parties that had already built a coalition with Golkar, turned to Democrats. The appeal was conveyed by the Deputy of PAN Viva Yoga Mauladi.

“Come on, PD, don’t be shy about joining KIB. KIB will be happy if PD joins. Of course it will increase political power in the 2024 presidential election,” said Viva Yoga Mauladi to reporters, Thursday (7/7).

Viva assessed that the Democrats would not only form a coalition with Golkar in KIB, but also with PAN and PPP. The PAN spokesman made a joke to the Democratic elite.
