La Jornada – Fifth shipment of pediatric vaccines arrives

Yesterday morning, the fifth shipment of pediatric vaccines against SARS-CoV-2 from Pfizer-BioNTech arrived at the Mexico City International Airport (AICM).

It was one million 2 thousand packaged doses, which adds up to 5 million 4 thousand biologicals for infants, received from this pharmaceutical company, out of a total of eight million contracted.

In total, since December 23, 2020, Mexico has had 229 million 353 thousand 35 biologicals available.

From June 27 to this date, one million 290 thousand 903 girls and boys from five to 11 years old have received their vaccine, which represents an advance of eight percent, detailed the Ministry of Health (Ssa).

On the site mivacuna.salud.gob.mx, the registry for this segment of the population continues to be open, for which reason it called on mothers and fathers, as well as caregivers, to fill out the electronic form and be aware of the vaccination dates.

So far, a total of 117 shipments of Pfizer BioNTech have arrived in the country with a total of 56 million 437 thousand 395 doses that have been destined for adults, older adults, adolescents and currently in its pediatric formulation for girls and boys from five to 11 years old .

The country has received 172 million 337 thousand 95 packaged vaccines from Pfizer-BioNTech, AstraZeneca, Sinovac, Gamaleya National Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology Research, CanSino Biologics, Johnson & Johnson and Moderna.

Likewise, in Mexico, the Drugmex laboratory has packaged 14 million 24 thousand 840 doses of CanSino Biologics, and the Liomont laboratory 42 million 991 thousand 100 biologicals of AstraZeneca, which makes a total of 57 million 15 thousand 940 vaccines.
