This Heart Attack Drug Uses the World’s Deadliest Spider Venom – Timlo.net

Timlo.net--A new revolutionary treatment for heart attack currently undergoing human trials. This drug contains the venom of one of the world’s deadliest spiders.

The drug was developed by researchers from the University of Queensland in Australia. They initially managed to find a molecule in the poison laba-laba K’gari Funnel Web. This molecule can apparently be used to stop heart attacks.

This breakthrough could also be used to help stroke survivors. The researchers were Professor Glenn King and Associate Professor Nathan Palpant of the Institute for Molecular Bioscience, University of Queensland.

They found that the molecules in the spider’s venom could stop the cell death caused by the loss of oxygen in the heart and brain during heart attacks and strokes.

A detailed description of how this drug is administered is not yet available. The way this drug is administered to patients has not been disclosed. The trial went very well. The drug is now undergoing human trials conducted by a company, Infensa Bioscience in Brisbane, Australia.
