Within the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), phase 4 corresponds to the beginning of the multiverse, but it also coincides with the end of the Captain America of Steve Rogers, then entrusting his shield to Sam Wilson to take over. But if Steve Rogers bowed out at Marvel Studios, the character’s adventures continue in the comicswhere the multiverse gave birth to a multitude of variantsincluding one in particular that recalls another famous superhero in the universe Marvel.

a variant like no other
Marvel Comics introduced several new Captain Americas through the multiverse, including one dubbed “Weapon-America” (fusion of Weapon X and Captain America), a deadly new combination of Steve Rogers and Wolverine. In the latest issue of the comic book series Avengers Forever, variants of Steve Rogers are put to the test. That’s how fans got to see this version of Captain America combined with Wolverine, which will also be a big help for those locked-in variants.
The comics Avengers Forever introduced a handful of hybrid superheroes, from different parts of the multiverse. Among those that readers have encountered so far, we find in particular a version of Tony Stark who has become Ant-Man, or even a Black Panther who combines several powers of the Avengers. This is how we find Deathlok, Ant-Man and Ghost Rider trying to recruit a Captain America within their team of Avengers of the multiverse, which leads them to encounter a multitude of variations of Steve Rogersincluding one who became Wolverine in his world.
In the comics Avengers Forever #7, released today and directed by Jason Aaron and Aaron Kuderthe story focuses on multiple versions of Steve Rogers mysteriously imprisoned together. Ranging from the pacifist variant to the canine, the unlikely group will eventually unite to free themselves from this prison. And throughout the comics, an imposing presence remains in the shadows. We will then discover that this version of Steve Rogers, sporting an American flag painted in the middle of the face, also has the same emblematic claws as those of Wolverine. Fans of the Marvel universe will then have noticed that this variant looks strangely like Nukea supervillain whose origins are tied to Wolverine.
This hybrid version of Steve Rogers and Wolverine will then help the other variants overcome a series of trials and obstacles., clawing his way through as he knows how to do so well. And when they finally reach freedom, they’ll be greeted by a Captain America band as unlikely as their Steve band, with a werewolf variant, another baby, or even a gorilla variant. They explain to them that they attended a boot camp to determine if they were worthy to join the multiverse’s Captain America team, needing all the help they can get.
This version of Captain America mixed with Wolverine is probably among the most extreme variants of Steve Rogers, because the character seems both heroic and menacing. He could thus prove to be a precious help for the Avengers team of the multiverse, although the latter seem to have finally directed their choice towards another variant of the superhero.
