At the back of the Prefecture, an alley leads to the Parc des Lices.
It is bordered on each side by high ramparts.
What a surprise, this June 14 at 9 am, to see a dozen Swifts flying very low, in a squadron, entering the inner courtyard at the back of the building.
Brushing the fortifications at full speed, some even clinging to the stones and disappearing in small crevices.
Piqued by curiosity and also admiration for these black birds, I allowed myself some photos.

And there, amazement!
On one side, restored wall, everything is very clean!
and on the other, a wall (still) ALIVE!
It is in this kind of situation that we see that urban biodiversity is NEVER taken into account when ordering work.
The reason: no need for ecological diagnosis for building renovations in the city.
The rules will have to change in the right direction, otherwise our grandchildren will only have movies and books to see this beautiful nature that we are destroying day after day!
