For the July 14 parade on the Champs-Élysées this year, the National Gendarmerie has chosen to highlight the “cyber block”. Good news for Chief Sergeant Lucas M., whom he took as an opportunity not to be missed, he who trained in the fight against cyber-crime in 2020 and who will have a particular mission in the coming months to continue to educate more than 500 gendarmes on the fight against cyber threats.

“I take this commitment as a sacrifice to have a lot of honor”

If this mission is not his main activity, he thus meets the criteria to go parade on the main avenue of the capital. From this Wednesday, July 6, he is rehearsing in Paris with the desire to be selected for the July 14 event.

“The parade is grandiose, always impressive. We may see more things on TV with the resources deployed today, but on site, there are all the armed forces. The atmosphere, a troupe marching in step, is for example very strong. Just the baptisms that I experienced at school were memorable so there it is still above”, he confided to us before his departure for the rehearsals, adding: “people told me it’s a long wait for a short parade, but I take this commitment as a sacrifice to have a lot of honor on D-Day”.

If he is selected on July 14, Chef Lucas will have a thought for his grandfather who was a standard bearer in Côte-d’Or. He will also most certainly say to himself, at 28, that the path of the Gendarmerie in which he embarked ten years ago is now his. “This idea of ​​order, of hierarchy, has always attracted me. In addition, even if it is not us who apply justice, I would say that we help to apply it. And the Gendarmerie can offer a lot of jobs, ”book the interested party.

Implementation and maintenance of information and communication tools

Even before obtaining his baccalaureate S in Pontailler-sur-Saône, the young man from Vielverge had passed the competition to consider a career in this military corps. He then entered the non-commissioned officer school in Montluçon.

Having known the position of volunteer deputy gendarme as well as a position in the local territorial brigade in Recey-sur-Ource in the Châtillonnais, he is now assigned to the information and communication systems section and continues his mission. first, which is to set up computer, radio and telephone tools within the various brigades of the Côte-d’Or.

“I support users, I try to make it easier for them. I really feel very good because the equipment and new technologies are constantly evolving, ”appreciates the chief sergeant who arrived in the Côte-d’Or departmental group in 2018. The July 14 parade would be for him another significant experience in his career.
