Moenchengladbach A man from Mönchengladbach who has been shown to be infected with Corona has died. The number of Covid intensive care patients in local hospitals is also increasing. The values at a glance.
The municipal health department has reported the 337th death related to Corona since the beginning of the pandemic in Mönchengladbach. A Covid patient who was born in 1942 reportedly died in the hospital. This emerges from a report from Wednesday, July 6th.

It also says there that 2041 people in Mönchengladbach (previous day: 1889) have been shown to be infected with Corona. On Wednesday, the city reported 464 new infections. These outweigh the 311 people who have recovered in the same period.

The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) gave the seven-day incidence in Mönchengladbach on Wednesday at 458.7 (previous day: 482.5). Meanwhile, the national average is 678.8 (previous day: 687.7) and the national average is 721.1 (previous day: 745.9). In NRW, only the city of Krefeld (453.6) and the Rhein-Sieg district (258.8) have a lower seven-day incidence than Mönchengladbach.

According to the Divi intensive care register, eight Covid 19 patients are currently (as of Wednesday, July 6, 1:18 p.m.) being treated in intensive care in Mönchengladbach hospitals, two of whom are being ventilated invasively. The day before, the value at lunchtime was five Covid intensive care patients (two ventilated) and last Friday three (one ventilated).

Of the 79 available intensive care beds in the Mönchengladbach urban area, eight are currently still free. This corresponds to 10.1 percent. Across the country, 13.8 percent of the intensive care beds (677 out of 4907) are unoccupied.

The RKI gives the hospitalization rate for NRW on Wednesday at 7.53. The value reported the day before was 7.32, but was subsequently corrected to 8.98 by late reports. According to the RKI, the nationwide hospitalization rate is currently 5.71 (previous day: 5.56 reported, corrected to 6.62).

Since the beginning of the pandemic, a total of 82,489 corona cases have been detected in Mönchengladbach residents. Those affected in 80,111 cases are considered no longer infectious.
