Tuesday is not Tuesday without a Peepshow† At least, we think so. And so Boris and JJ go into the studio to go through the business concerns of the industry behind the desk. And they do that, as always, in their own way. In this edition, the two veterans talk about a pr fuckup from EA, a week full of threats to developers and the House of Representatives versus loot boxes. All subjects that Boris and JJ like. So sit or lie down and check out the Peepshow of Tuesday 5 July 2022.
Many developers online threatened in recent weeks
In recent weeks, a number of decisions were made that were quite disappointing for gamers. A potentially delayed presentation of God of War Ragnarök, announcement that only one new Monkey Island game is coming, and so on. All things that you as a gamer can and should be disappointed with. But today’s society takes things a little more personally. And so developers were threatened. And good too. How do the two men view this? And is there a solution to these sickening scenes on social media?
Fuckup EA & Mad Catz Bizarre Commercial
Doing PR is an art. One that you have to have good control over to be able to achieve success. For example, a tweet that is meant to be fun can be picked up completely wrong. That happened when EA thought they could take advantage of the ‘They are a 10’ hype on TikTok in particular. So that doesn’t quite work. In fact, EA was a bit of a mess. Why? That’s what the two gentlemen tell you in this video. As they also discuss a motion against loot boxes in the House of Representatives and a new advertising campaign for Mad Catz, you will see and hear it all in this new edition of the Peepshow.
