Robin Larson, the winner of the first round of Nitro RX in the electric Group E class, has suffered a terrible accident. As the athlete says on his social networks, “I was close to dying this Sunday. I was alone in the workshop when I had an accident with an angle grinder that hit my neck. Luckily, I was able to call my friends and family before the ambulance arrived, so they were able to keep me awake and prevent me from falling asleep. Forty stitches later and a scar on my neck. I am very lucky to have friends, family and the best friend in the world with me, who has been with me since I entered the hospital. Take care of each other because this could be over sooner than you think.”

Let us remind you that recently in the final of the first stage of Nitro RX in the new electric Group E class, it was Larsson who won the victory, leaving his teammate Andreas Bakkerud behind, while the third place went to Niklas Gronholm.
After the first stage of the season, the leader in the overall standings is Larsson (58), followed by Bakkerud (49) and Gronholm (42).
Meanwhile, another Swedish athlete, Kevin Eriksson, said on his social networks that he too was recently forced to visit the hospital. Because of this, he missed the first round of Nitro RX of the season. The athlete revealed that he was involved in an accident before the competition (he was replaced in the competition by Gronholm, who won third place). The athlete was successfully operated on his right foot, and now he has started his rehabilitation period.

“I want to thank my family, my amazing girlfriend and my mom for taking care of me over the last few weeks, and all of you who have reached out to me in different ways to keep me motivated. Time is not really on my side, but if I feel good, we will definitely try to come back for the second round of Nitro RX at the end of July. Now you have to drink a lot of milk so that the bones heal faster,” the athlete concludes with a smile.–
