A second-generation Volvo V70 R exceeded 300 km / h. It all happened while filming a test on the German autobahn.
The AutoTopNL YouTube channel team tested a second-generation Volvo V70 R. The tested specimen underwent significant changes on the mechanical side.
What changes does this V70 have?
Among the changes to the Swedish station wagon are: a new turbine, high-flow injectors, a new fuel pump, a new intercooler and reinforced internal engines. The transmission and clutch parts have also been modified. The suspension has also been revised with new parts, for extra performance. Along with a better suspension, the owner also installed a braking system according to the power that the car is now developing.
On top of all this is added an exhaust made especially for the car in question, which makes the 5-cylinder engine sound like a mini Dodge Viper. All changes were made by the owner to his garage. The changes brought the engine power from 300 horsepower and 400 Nm to 566 horsepower and 651 Nm.
V from speed
In the test performed by those from AutoTopNLthe car has shown speeds you don’t expect from a Volvo station wagon.
The 100-200 km / h half is ready in just 8.58 seconds. What does this thing mean? It means that this model, which can be easily overlooked, is faster than a Mercedes C63 S, an Audi RS6 or a BMW M4 Competition. All the cars listed do not lack power, but this old man Volvo he seems to have had a say.
The icing on the cake was the maximum speed reached. The two guys from the AutoTopNL team were extremely surprised when the car exceeded the 300 km / h barrier. The maximum speed reached was 304 km / h.
