Dr. Eddie Muniz Rodriguez
Dr. Rodriguez was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. He is a 1984 graduate from Holy Cross High School and has a B.S. Degree from St. Mary’s University; a master’s degree in Education from Our Lady of the Lake University; and a Ph.D. in Educational Administration from Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. Dr. Rodriguez also has his Superintendent’s Certificate and has taught 34 years in public school education as an educator, curriculum science and mathematics specialist, and administrator.
Dr. Rodriguez was the principal of the Harlandale Independent School District’s STEM Early College High School partnered with Palo Alto College, in San Antonio, Texas. He was the principal there for five years and was instrumental in the inception and creation of this new high school for students interested in STEM and interested in attempting to earn an Associate’s College Degree all while enrolled in high school.
Apart from being the principal of the CAST Med High School, he is also an adjunct professor and currently teaches a Secondary Science Methods course at Texas A&M University–San Antonio. He has also worked as a private consultant for many school districts in Texas and across the United States and in 2008, was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship from the United States State Department to travel to Mexico City and visit and learn about schools in Mexico. This Fulbright experience later offered Dr. Rodriguez an opportunity to do work for the Secretary of Education (Secretaria de Educacion Publica (SEP)) in Mexico City.
