Support for associations in the Hérault department working to fight and prevent cancer.
As part of the 2021-2030 ten-year strategy, the public authorities aim to significantly reduce the burden of cancers in the daily lives of French people.
4 axes have been defined, broken down into action plans:
- Improving prevention,
- Limit the sequelae and improve the quality of life,
- Fight against cancers with poor prognoses,
- Ensure that progress benefits everyone.
This strategy must be part of a participatory approach, involving players in the health system, patients and associations. It aims to improve the healthcare offer, and the service provided to all citizens in the fields of prevention and screening, to people affected by the disease, in their care and life course, to all the actors.
Cancer is perceived as the most serious disease. Of nearly 400,000 new cases of cancer diagnosed each year, about 160,000 (40%) could be prevented.
The Hérault health insurance fund is already very committed to this fight, in particular with the implementation of its innovative support system “With You Against Illness” which allows us to respond individually to patients who need it.
Our ambition is also to have a more collective approach by supporting associations with projects for the fight against cancer.
To ensure its fundamental mission of sustainably protecting everyone’s health, the Hérault Health Insurance is committed to a social action policy aimed at informing and raising awareness among policyholders about cancer and more particularly breast cancer. breast and lungs.
We are looking for innovative, artistic, sporting, informative, cultural projects led by former patients.
The objectives are to:
- raise awareness and empower, without feeling guilty,
- increase the frequency and impact of communication,
- inform in a creative, innovative, playful way,
- impact and shine on the department of Hérault
Two themes were selected:
- As part of Pink October, “fight and prevent breast cancer”: support an innovative event led by patients or former patients encouraging screening.
