As of July 2022, the price of cheap cars or low cost green cars (LCGC) has increased. The increase has reached Rp 7 million.
The increase in LCGC prices was influenced by the government’s relaxation of the Sales Tax on Luxury Goods (PPnBM) policy. LCGC still gets PPnBM discount even though the tax reduction is getting smaller.
LCGC cars get a 100% discount from PPnBM payable for the January 2022 Tax Period until the March 2022 Tax Period; 66 2/3% of PPnBM payable for the April 2022 Tax Period up to the June 2022 Tax Period; and 33 1/3% of PPnBM payable for the July 2022 Tax Period up to the September 2022 Tax Period.
Simply put: LCGC consumers are charged PPnBM at 0% or free in January-March 2022, 1% PPnBM in April-June 2022, and 2% PPnBM in July-September 2022. The rest from October to December LCGC is subject to normal PPnBM at 3% .
This means that as of July 2022, LCGC will be charged with PPnBM 2% from the normal 3%. This makes LCGC prices as of July 2022 increase.
Toyota-Astra Motor released a list of car prices as of July 2022. Toyota LCGCs like Agya have increased by Rp. 3 million. Meanwhile, Toyota Calya increased to Rp. 6-7 million. Reportedly in the near future Toyota will provide an update on the Calya so that the price goes higher.
The following is the price list for the Toyota LCGC:
Toyota Agya price:
- 1.2 G M/T STD: 158.500.000
- 1.2 G A/T STD (Spot Order*): 172.000.000
- 1.2 GR Sport M/T: 163.900.000
- 1.2 GR Sport A/T: 179.700.000
Toyota Calya price
- 1.2 E M/T STD: 158.600.000
- 1.2 E M/T: 161.500.000
- 1.2 G M/T: 167.000.000
- 1.2 G A/T: 181.100.000
In addition, the LCGC Honda Brio Satya also experienced a price increase. The price of the Brio Satya is currently up by IDR 1-2 million. The following is the price list for the Brio Satya July 2022:
Brio Satya Price
- Brio Satya S M/T: Rp 156.900.000
- Brio Satya E M/T: Rp 170.500.000
- Brio Satya E A/T: Rp 186.400.000.
While the price list for Daihatsu cars on the official website until this news is written has not been updated. Just like Toyota, Daihatsu is rumored to be presenting the latest LCGC Sigra this week which is likely to experience a price increase as well.
