The high-level service bus is a long-term project. There is no town council without a point relating to the future transport network of the Thionville Fensch agglomeration. A few days ago, it did not fail: elected officials had to decide on the launch of a traffic study for the new bus routes. The idea is to analyze the “origin/destination” journeys of users, motorists, pedestrians and cyclists. A point a priori simple as pie yes but here it is: with the BHLS, nothing is ever fluid. This time, it is the prospect of a disengagement of the community of communes of Cattenom and surroundings from the Smitu (trade union managing the transport network) which raises questions.
“What would be the consequences of this withdrawal on the project? “asked opposition councilor Brigitte Vaïsse. The evening of the meeting, the CCCE had not yet clearly expressed the position. Deputy Roger Schreiber tried everything for everything, arguing that the hypothesis of a departure of the CCCE from Smitu was “an interpretation of the press”. Today, we know that this is not the case, Cattenom having confirmed the desire to leave the union. “A withdrawal is very complicated,” said Roger Schreiber, who also chairs Smitu. The session of the said union, scheduled for Monday, July 4, promises an electric atmosphere. Especially since, since then, the Val de Fensch has also expressed doubts.

“We don’t do the kékés! »
But let’s come back to this meeting of the Thionvillois council, where the mayor, Pierre Cuny, did not vary an inch on the need to go to the end of the BHLS project, especially since it is already engaged with the construction of two bridges in Thionville. “There has been immobility on the question of transport in the past but today, we are accelerating […] The BHLS will be done, whatever the price to be paid. “ Until then relatively discreet, the adviser Lionel Bieder came close to having a stroke. ” Whatever the cost ? Whatever the cost ? In the current context of geopolitical and financial instability, aren’t you worried? These are the deniers of the Thionvillois! “, he unfolded. A little later still: “We are talking about a project worth a quarter of a million euros. I’m just saying, OK: isn’t it possible to hurry slowly? »
The intervention of the whistleblower of the day did not convince. On the contrary, it has increased the response tenfold. “You are not telling us anything, Mr. Bieder! We don’t make kékés, we don’t make a bus system for us! The role of a mayor is to move forward on projects! “, dropped Pierre Cuny sure of his shot. Jackie Helfgott, cultural assistant, came in support: “You can’t stop us from having a ten-year vision! »
Returning to the charge, Lionel Bieder pushed Pierre Cuny to his limits but the latter did not let go. “Somewhere, everyone is at the origin of this BHLS except me but now, we have to assume it. »
The Smitu meeting on Monday evening promises a good working atmosphere.
