Nearly 19,000 are the new cases of people infected with the coronavirus in Greece, but the health authorities do not plan to introduce a mandatory test for entering the country, BNR reports.
Health Minister Thanos Plevris said that until the end of the summer season, there is no need to reintroduce restrictive measures against the spread of the virus.
Specialists from the Pandemic Control Council suggest that entry into Greece should be done again only with a negative test and mandatory masks, which the government refuses for now.
In one day, 300 patients were hospitalized with severe symptoms from the virus, and 28 regions of the country are in a red zone with a three-digit number of newly infected, the Ministry of Health informs.
The number of people requiring intensive care is still low, as is the number of deaths.
Health authorities recommend that tourists avoid public places where social distancing is not possible, and that they enter shops with masks, although it is not mandatory.
