Just back from training in Navata (Spain), the TFC players made a stopover in Béziers to play their first friendly match on Saturday 2 July.
Against Ligue 2 resident Nîmes Olympique, Philippe Montanier’s players won (2-0) thanks to goals from mouse and Chaibi.
After the meeting, the Toulouse coach spoke of a victory “logic”. “We had control over the whole game, he explained. We had some great opportunities. We will have to go up to create a little more scoring opportunities given the control of the match”.
Téf’s new Norwegian goalkeeper, Kjetil Haug, played his first minutes in his new colors. He is one of three recruits already registered by the club. Others should follow.
Before starting in the league on August 6 or 7, against Nice, the Violets will still play five friendlies. The next meeting is set for Saturday July 9, in Tulle (Corrèze). It will be against Troyes, another Ligue 1 resident.
