Ukraine open a voice about the statement of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) who said he carried a message from President Volodymyr Zelensky to Russian President Vladimir Putin a few days ago.
Ukrainian presidential office spokesman Serhii Nikiforov said if Zelensky had a message for Putin, it could be conveyed by himself through a speech, not through an intermediary.
“There is any message, if the President of Ukraine wants to talk to someone, he will do it openly, in a daily speech,” Nikiforov said, quoted on Sunday (3/7).
Jokowi did visit Ukraine and met in person with Zelensky on June 30, 2022. They discussed several things, ranging from the Russian invasion to the world food crisis.
So, what exactly was the content of Zelensky’s full speech to the public after the meeting?
Thank you, Your Excellency Mr. President Widodo and the delegation of ladies and gentlemen, media colleagues.
Today is a historic day for our country, for Ukraine and Indonesia because this is the first visit by the President of Indonesia to Ukraine.
And this is the first visit of an Asian leader since the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Honorable Mr. President, we appreciate this, especially Indonesia and also your authority and your presence in the international world is very high.
You represent the G20 countries, where Indonesia is holding the Presidency this year and is a strong country in ASEAN.
Next year (Indonesia) will become an ASEAN power next year and I think your presence is the beginning to strengthen the coalition to fight the war that is being carried out together with countries to restore stability in the world.
We appreciate Indonesia’s support as well as your personal, personal support who was there during the war to fight for our independence.
And also You have shaped the Indonesian struggle and we will fight for our independence and also the independence of Ukraine from the colonial war launched by Russia.
And as soon as this war ends, and quickly restore the political and economic situation in Ukraine.
In this meeting we discussed several global agendas, which must do everything possible to lift Russia’s blockade on the Black Sea in order to continue wheat exports.
And Russia also threatens starvation in the world, and they block exports from Ukraine, and disrupt the global market by up to millions of tons of grain that Ukraine also sends to the Indonesian people.
If there is no ambition from Russia then we will not have that problem. This is a global challenge now.
Before the Russian invasion, we had no threat of world hunger, no food crisis.
I express my deep gratitude for the support of the president, for the independence and sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
Thank you for your support as G20 President and I thank Your Excellency for your invitation for me to attend the G20 Summit and I accept the invitation.
But Ukraine’s presence will depend on the security situation in our country and also the composition of the participants at the summit.
I want to report that our agreement to have a visa-free agreement between the two countries, I think this is very important for our two nations for economic progress, development, as well as education, and public relations between the two countries.
I hope we can help with the reconstruction of Ukraine. I invite Indonesia, Indonesian companies, Indonesian professionals to participate in the projects currently in Ukraine.
Thank you for the ongoing negotiations. Thank you for your trust. Thank you
