Horror! It hasn’t been this scary in Italy for decades

Life in Italy is becoming more expensive. It is reported by the National Statistical Institute Istat, finding a record inflation of 8% since a year ago. This has not happened since 1986.

For the month of June, the prices of food products, including fruits and vegetables, increased between 8% and 11%, BNR informs. In the framework of daily housing costs – they are more by 28%, in transport by 14% and everything else, up to 1% for health needs, which weighs incredibly on the monthly family budget. Annually, according to its members, they are between 2,500 and 3,200 euros more.

Separately, air tickets have increased by 90%, hotels by 18%. On an annual basis, the biggest reason is the increase in the prices of energy products by almost 42% and the speculations as a consequence of this.

Through decrees, the government allocated a total of 33 billion euros against high energy bills, but on the other hand, wages in Italy have not changed for years.

The leader of the Democratic Party, Enrico Letta, believes that measures should be taken on this matter.

Giuseppe Conte of “Five Stars” wants the rulers to meet with the trade unions sooner. From there they stated that if nothing is decided, there will be strikes in the fall.
